Nature loving, fun seeking, sporadic dancer.

I believe in sustainability, so much so that I went without napkins or paper towels in my house for 6 months (and the end to that madness was when my aunt bought me sustainable and reusable napkins and ‘paper towels’)! HAHA I am absolutely ridiculous sometimes, but in the best of ways;)

I have experienced a lot of chronic pain in my life, modern medicine has failed me in more ways than one. For years of my life, I lived each day with intense pain, pain that was so bad that over the counter painkillers couldn’t put a dent in it. After a period of depression and hopelessness, I searched far and wide for solutions to my predicament. I have found healing, rejuvenation, relief, and recovery in holistic healing practices. Some of my favorite pain relief methods include listening to pain relief frequencies, using mild colored lighting, practicing stretching/range of motion, and self-massage. These, and many other holistic techniques have helped me get to a place where I have pain free days, and most of my painful days have mild intensity. This improvement has been no less than life changing.

I spent some years working as an in-home caregiver for elderly people, and have seen the lives of our senior population up close and personal. I have worked with seniors at various stages of their life, from needing a helping hand an hour a week to end-of-life care. One thing that shone the brightest from this experience is the untapped pain and suffering of our parents, grandparents, and loved ones. Modern medicine is failing them just as it failed me. They need my help, they need your help, and they need to help themselves. Let's join forces to conquer this sleeping beast.

Here is the not-so-secret I have, I am afraid. Afraid of so much pain and suffering, afraid to live the life I want to live and be the person I want to be. But I am even more afraid of not doing that. So here I go.

Hi Everyone! It’s me, Clarissa :D If you didn’t already know, I’m a totally unhinged artist and creator, making my way through this world one day at a time. And boy is it a joy! I have recently quit my job because I found my purpose in this world and I am risking it all to make it work. I am now a full-time doer of what feels right and a no-time doer of wasting my talent and resources living a life that was not meant for me. I design my own reality. I am free, I accept the failure I may encounter, I dream of the success that I will eventually reach, and I wish for the support of my fellow humans. But most of all, I enjoy the ups, downs, and loop-de-loops of the journey I am on. I believe in myself and this mission, and I believe in you. Let's make this world a better place to live, together.

About Clarissa

While this vision is evolving, there are the core principals:

  • I plan to design and realize community spaces for elderly people (and people wih chronic pain).

  • These spaces will inspire and educate individuals to care for themselves in holistic ways, using techniques such as breathwork, self-massage, gentle movement, mindfulness.

  • These spaces will provide access to natural pain relief using light, sound, smell, and more.

  • It will bring people together to heal as a community and as individuals. And help combat loneliness while we’re at it.

My goal is to eliminate depression in elderly people due to discomfort by inspiring them to heal emotionally, physically, and energetically

  • It is my free expression, and my story of how I got here. I hope that seeing it on your wall reminds you to believe in yourself, embrace the ups and downs of life, and live in the moment.
